Wanted to post a few updates!
Website - Has definitely been a learning experience but I think we are close. Still tweaking a few things and feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
COVID update - COVID cases on Abaco continue to be very low and they have started vaccinations using the AstraZeneca vaccine. There are currently 2 processes to enter the country.
1. Fully vaccinated. If you have received the total course of a vaccine and it has been at least 14 days since your final dose you will not need to be tested before entering the Bahamas. You will need to follow the link below and upload your vaccination card to receive a Bahamas health visa (and pay $40). You will also need to check the requirements to fly back home for your country. For the United States, you will have to get a negative test within 3 days of your return flight. These tests are readily available in Marsh Harbour and you will be given your results then.
2. Not vaccinated/Not fully vaccinated - You will need to get a negative PCR test no more than 5 days before your arrival in the Bahamas. You will need to upload the test results at the link below in order to get your health visa approved. Once you are in the country, you will need to be tested again on your 5th day there (arrival day counts as day 0). You will also receive a daily health questionnaire by email that will need to be filled out. For the United States, you will also need to be tested no more than 3 days before your return flight. What most people have been doing is planning their return on day 8 so the 5 day test can count for the return flight as well. Again, the clinics in Marsh Harbour have tests available.

Weather is great right now in Abaco. Generally highs in the mid 80's with lows in the 70's. The water was already warm when we were there last month and it should only be continuing to warm up. Sea temp reported in the lower 80's this morning.
With the increase in water temperature fishing becomes more active. We have a friend down the street that continues to catch yellowfin tuna not far offshore. If you go to Casuarina, he sells fillets from his fresh tuna catches that make wonderful sushi and are also great on the grill!
We are putting the finishing touches on our welcome packet for the house. Everything you need to know to have a great trip is in there!
Thanks for reading the blog!!
